Remington Steele in Legos

I loved the television show "Remington Steele" when I was in high school, and when the series came out on DVD a few years ago, I started buying the various seasons as I could. I now have the complete series. Hooray! At any rate, recently I have introduced Sarabeth and Christopher to my favorite old comedy detective show (with FF and mute button handy for certain inappropriate scenes). To my delight, they love the show as much as I always have. We're on Season Four now, and they've already re-watched many of their favorite episodes from previous seasons. Apparently they are memorizing scenery as well as dialogue. Yesterday they built the Remington Steele Investigations office and limousine out of Legos. Scarily accurate....

Sticky Situation

You know those sticky, slimy toys you're supposed to throw on the wall and they slowly peel themselves off and "walk" (or fall) down? It always worked, until Sarabeth threw hers way up high, onto an unreachable section of wall in the stairway. Then it stuck, and stayed stuck, and was stuck for days. And by the time Chet got some sort of long pole to scrape it down, the toy had left a slimy stain on my way-up-high wall that is now permanently disgusting. So, when you come over, don't look at it, okay?

There it is! Way up there!

Gross.

Batman Continued....

Sarabeth and Christopher recently spent the afternoon designing Wayne Manor, Bruce Wayne's home on the Batman t.v. show. When they were finished, I got the grand tour. I was actually quite impressed with their creativity. Crazy kids.

Bruce's private sitting room, a secret clothes changing room, and the batpoles!

The Batpoles lead to the Batcave, which houses the Batmobile

Sarabeth later added the fireplace and mantel accessories to the living room

Christopher added a furnace

Super Hero Accessories

Sarabeth loves Wonder Woman. Christopher recently got a Super Hero Lego set containing a Wonder Woman Lego figure, and he lets Sarabeth play with it from time to time. A couple days ago, they decided Wonder Woman needed her invisible plane... so Sarabeth built her one.

Which reminds me... this past Thanksgiving, in Tennessee, my brother Kevin and I went to Target together one afternoon. In the toy section, we saw a display box containing a whole line of Super Hero Lego figures: Batman, Superman, Iron Man, Wonder Woman, etc. Kevin commented: "Wonder Woman even comes with her invisible plane." I almost fell for it. I caught myself just in time.... I did NOT say, "Oh, where is it?" Always have to be on guard with Kevin. He loves to trip you up.

Be Prepared

Apparently we're expecting trouble at our next tea party....
